Before the Outbreak: Ashley Anderson was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia on May 13th, 1991. She had a fairly normal life. Her parents were still together, she had an older brother, they weren’t poor or struggling, nothing out of the ordinary to speak of except Ashley herself. She was always a rebellious child causing her parents a lot of grief, skipping school, staying out all hours of the night and even running away a few times. It didn’t take long for Ashley’s reckless lifestyle to get her into trouble that she couldn’t get herself out of with lies or tears and it would change her life forever. Shortly after her sixteenth birthday she found herself getting sick every morning and after a trip to the doctor with her very angry mother, it was confirmed that the girl was in fact pregnant. At first Ashley was angry that something like this could happen to her, pissed that her parents wouldn’t let her out of her responsibility and get rid of the baby but that all changed when she had her first ultrasound. Ashley’s life and attitude changed for the better when she saw her child on the monitor in front of her, she realized that little life growing inside her was all hers, it needed her and she would do anything in this world to protect it whether the babies father stuck around or not. Shortly after the new year Ashley’s daughter came into the world Brianna came into the world, healthy and happy. The first couple of months were hard because her the young mother was trying to finish high school and take care of her newborn daughter, the teenage girl had never appreciated her mother so much as she did while she struggled with schoolwork, graduation and being a parent. After graduation she remained living at home for the first few years, working at odd jobs, going to the local community college for computers and business at her mothers insistence even if she found them completely boring.Eventually she got to the point where she wanted to move out and, even if her mother didn’t want her to, she got her first apartment not too far from her parents house. Everything was a struggle for her, the fast food restaurant she was working at wasn’t very flexible with the hours she needed for going to school and she just wasn’t making much money. In reality Ashley knew she had to do something or she’d be moving right back home with her parents and she certainly didn’t want that. It was on her way home from work one night that she spotted the now hiring sign outside a strip club, at first she just shook the idea off because she didn’t think she’d ever be able to do something like that, she was a parent now and her own family would never approve. She went to her mothers home and picked up Brianna and went home, not giving it much more thought until a few days later when she got into a huge argument with her boss whom she didn’t particularly care for. She stormed out of the restaurant intent on never going back if she could do anything about it, but in reality she knew she would be right back there the next day begging and groveling for her job back and it made her sick. Not knowing what else to do with her day, since she had the day off college, Ashley found herself driving around with no particular destination and soon enough she was seeing that ‘now hiring’ sign on the strip club. In a moment of impulse she turned around and parked the car and decided to at least go in and see what it was all about, maybe it was just bar tending or something so what could it hurt? The blonde nervously made her way into the nearly empty bar and inquired about the position. After talking to the boss and some of the girls and hearing what they made, she was sold on the idea and got up on stage for her audition, dancing to a few of her favorite songs and having a good time doing it. She left the bar with a self satisfied smile on her face and brand new job. She worked in the strip club right up until the outbreak two years later, it gave her the money she needed to make it on her own, take care of her daughter and go to school. Her parent’s weren’t happy for it but they supported her in her decision and considered watching Brianna on the nights that she worked so she wouldn’t have to pay for childcare. It wasn’t the best job in the world but it met her needs and she could pick her schedule, she liked a few of her co-workers and there were even some customers she didn’t mind. She was especially close to Joanna Ramone, another stripper, and Olivia Mckay, the bartender and even hung out with them a few times outside of work.
After the Outbreak: Luckily Ashley wasn’t working at the strip club the night of the outbreak, she had been at college when she witnessed the first attack, which happened to be a man attacking and biting another man in the neck in the hallway and the teachers trying to pull him off her. One of the teachers got bit in the process and other students and teachers came to help. Classes were dismissed for the day and as Ashley walked to her car in a daze, she knew something was terribly wrong. She turned on the radio in her car and listened to the grim reports about the situation, the streets seemed to be a mess with people trying to get out of the city and she just couldn’t seem to get home fast enough. It seemed that everywhere she went, she saw more incidents like she had witnessed at school, people attacking, biting and even eating other people. She wondered what was becoming of the world they lived in.Of course nothing could have prepared the woman for the sight that would await her when she arrived at her parents house and it would haunt her forever. Her mothers car was in the driveway as usual but when she made her way up to the door it was wide open. She called out for her mother and her daughter but received no answer, she grabbed a fireplace poker since it was the nearest weapon that she could find and quietly made her way through the house. When she reached the second floor she heard the most disturbing noises ever coming from her mothers bedroom and slowly opened the door to investigate the situation. Cracking the door just enough to peer inside, Ashley saw the most horrible sight ever - it was even worse than the one in the hallway at school - a man, she recognized as one of the neighbors that she had known since she was a child, devouring what was left of her mother on the floor. Of course being in a state of terrible fear, Ashley did the worst thing possible, she screamed and attracted the horrible creatures attention. As the zombiefied man stumbled towards her making the most awful sounds she’d ever heard, Ashley did the first thing she could think to do and stabbed him right in the eye socket. She was just about to run when she heard sounds coming from the closet in her mothers room, she opened the door to find her frightened three year old daughter hiding. After comforting the little girl Ashley retrieved the bloody fireplace poker and and went around the house gathering whatever she could find that might be useful and packed it all into the car, knowing that she and Brianna had to get out of the city. Ashley survived with her daughter for almost two years, living in any place she could find shelter for the two of them. Occasionally they would find other people along the way but that would never last long and soon enough they were on their own once again. A few months ago on one of their most recent hunts to find canned food in a small abandoned store, Ashley turned her back just long enough to put some things into her backpack, as she did a zombie came out from wherever it had been hiding and before she could kill it, the creature bit Brianna. Enraged and full of despair for her daughter who was now going to die, Ashley killed the zombie with her knife and fell to the floor with her daughter. The little girl died in her arms and no matter how badly it hurt her, after the child passed she stabbed the little girl in through the eye with the same knife she had just used to take out the zombie, there was no way she was letting her baby turn and become one of them.  Ever since Brianna died, Ashley has been on her own just going through the motions of survival. She doesn’t really want to live because she feels she has nothing left for her but the strong willed woman has never given up on anything in her life and feels like her daughter and the lives of everyone she loved would just be in vain if she just gave in and ended it all. She’s recently been in search of another group of people to survive with because she seeks human companionship and a place that she can call home, if a place like that even exists anymore.
Personality: Ashley doesn’t seem to have all the stereotypical traits of a blonde, but she does fall true to some of them. Like the being proud of the way she looks aspect. However she is a very smart girl and was even going through college before the outbreak. She has a rockin style with the attitude to match. Becoming friends with her will consist of a lot of sarcastic comments and even some sass. Although after losing her daughter to a walker and being on her own for a while she found it hard to get close to anyone out of fear of losing them again. If anyone gets lucky enough to get past those walls then they’re in for her normal sarcastic comments, and jokes.
